Yes, I know, you can't really expect top espresso from a chain. But with a medium cappuccino for € 3.65 you should at least expect one that's okay. Unfortunately too much expected: Even after half an hour of waiting, the cappuccino is still too hot to drink. So the milk was too hot, so the taste was overcooked and the cappuccino tasted totally burnt. Unfortunately not really tasty. 😞

great place at the main station in Kiel. Always friendly staff, always delicious coffee and cake. Small but nice.

The nicest place to wait for the train in Kiel HBF. The usual delicious things to eat Coffee, even lattes, are of course decaffeinated. The young man behind the counter was just super nice.

Free wifi and the FAZ, ok coffee. Certainly the most instagram-friendly corner of the Kiel Hbf but the sandwiches are made with the lowest-grade ingredients possible, the desserts not even pretending to have come straight from the freezer and an overflowing self-service dish-return bin and no water glasses when the employees outnumber the customers? Not fun when you've got your luggage and wallet and winter things to juggle. The bakery at the Main Entrance is a better bet- they've at least put more effort into consistency than into presentation.

Balzac in the main station Kiel. A very small shop by Balzac, but very nicely decorated. But can still be quite narrow in the commuter period. The staff is mostly very friendly. A small coffee you get already from 1.85 €. Of course, there is also lactose-free milk and a wide selection of drinks.
